Day 3 and Counting: Airtel Xstream Fiber Outage Leaves Subscribers High & Dry

Airtel Xstream Fiber service has gone down in parts of Srinagar city since Wednesday morning while this unannounced outage that was supposedly going to end on Wednesday afternoon continues with bleak chances for restoration till the filing of this report on Friday evening.

For the past three days, the subscribers of Airtel India (Airtel Xstream Fiber) have been given false assurances through mobile texts. “Since Wednesday, I receive at least four SMSs from Airtel on daily basis and every time they assure that service will be restored by 12:46 and when it doesn’t another SMS informs that the service will be restored by 3:46 and this cycle continues,” a subscribe Abdul Rouf told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

“I am frustrated now, I don’t understand what to do. My work has been hit due to poor services of Airtel,” said another subscriber Surninder Singh adding that he pays Rs 1000 monthly for better service but the company is a total disappointment.

“Our team is still working to resolve the issue. The expected time to resume your Airtel Xstream Fiber services is 27 April 2022, 12:46 PM,” subscribers receive such kinds of texts from the last three days with a slight change in date and timings.

A subscriber from the Mehjoor Nagar area of Srinagar said that a technical expert informed him that this outage is not only in Srinagar but in Jammu as well. He said for the past three days efforts are on to rectify the fault.

“For me, the three-day continuous outage and counting is a new experience. I now firmly believe that Airtel cares a fig for customer services,” said a subscriber saying that he would have switched to another company but unfortunately there is no feasibility.

News Agency KNT found that netizens on social media in the past as well have complained against Airtel Xstream Fiber. From Mumbai, to Gorukhpur to Delhi to Srinagar and so on, in every city, netizens have given vent to their anger and frustration requesting others not to trust Airtel.

“My Xstream Fiber connection is down for more than 24 hours due to a “network outage” reason and you have miserably failed to rectify the fault. Your CS team has just been handing me out false assurances & timelines,” reads a tweet from a visibly frustrated Airtel subscriber. (KNT)
