Day 3: Searches on to trace Baramulla missing man, Family seeks help

It is day three that Gurmeet Singh, a resident of Baramulla has been missing.

Earlier the family members speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that Gurmeet Singh, who is a senior Government official with the Roads and Buildings Department of Jammu Kashmir had left his home on August 25, following which the family has no clue of his whereabouts.

“He left home on August 25, around 6 P.M. for some work after which he did not return home till 9 P.M., that caused panic among his family members, We (family) along with neighbours, friends, colleagues, and police started to search for him everywhere including a hospital,” he said.

Gurmeet Singh, had informed his family that he was going to attend an official meeting.

During the search, his colleagues found his vehicle (wagonR) near Sheeri in Baramulla. “Inside his locked vehicle, his phone too was found on flight mode,” the family members told The Kashmiriyat over the phone.

The family has lodged a missing report at the concerned Police station which has started searches to trace the missing person and his car is also under police custody. “If anyone has seen Gurmeet Ji after 6:25 P.M. yesterday, please inform us over the phone number 9797199937,” the family members appealed to the people.

Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that intensive searches have been started by teams of Jammu Kashmir Police, SDRF and locals are also helping to trace the 59-year-old Gurmeet Singh. “but as of now, we have found no clue of him,” they said.
