Days after being Injured in an Attack, Akash Mehra – Son of Krishna Dhaba’s Owner Dies in the Hospital

 

Akash Mehra, the 22 year – old son of Rakesh Mehra, the owner of a popular eatery named Krishna Dhaba in Srinagar, died in SMHS hospital early morning on Sunday, 12 days after being injured in an attack, where militants fired upon him from a close range.

 

The attack came on a day when a group of envoys including those from several European Union countries and a few Organization of Islamic Countries, member states began a two-day visit to Jammu Kashmir to get a first-hand account of the situation in the newly carved union territory, especially after the recently concluded local body elections on the 17th of February.

 

Neighbors in large numbers rushed him to the hospital after the attack, however, his condition was declared critical by the attending doctors.

 

“The Family has never been harmed, they have been living here for many decades now, we invite them to our homes for celebrations and they also visit our houses often,” the locals told The Kashmiriyat.

 

Hospital officials upon being contacted told The Kashmiriyat that Akash had received a bullet in his chest and was operated on for the same, but has passed away after 12 days of the attack from the grieve injuries he suffered.
