The dead body of a man from Bihar, identified as Ashok Chauhan, was found in the Zainapora area of Shopian, district of south Kashmir, on Friday.
Local residents reported the discovery after noticing the injured body lying on the roadside.
Police confirmed that the victim, who worked as a corn seller in the region, had sustained multiple injuries to his torso and face.
Authorities have deployed security forces to the area amid suspicions that the death may be linked to terrorist activity.
An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding Chauhan’s death,
The local police and security personnel have taken possession of the body for further examination as they continue their inquiries into the incident.
