Delhi Police Files FIR Against Creators of ‘Sulli Deals’ App

The Delhi Police Special Cell has registered an FIR against unknown people for creating an app named ‘Sulli Deals’ on GitHub.

The app was created for stealing photos of Muslim women, illegally would auction these photos.

A case FIR under section 354-A of IPC has been registered and the investigation is underway.

“Acting on a complaint received on National Cybercrime Reporting Portal regarding Sulli Deals Mobile Application, an FIR under section 354-A (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered by the Cyber Crime Unit and investigation has started,” a police official has said.

According to the official, a notice has been sent to GitHub to share the details about the case.

This comes a day after Delhi Commission for Women issued notice to Delhi Police and sought a detailed action-taken report on the matter.
