On Monday, the Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested a young man from Panjab in the Red Fort incident of January 26.
A cash reward of Rs 1 Lakh was announced for information on the man, who has been identified as Gurjot Singh.
Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) told that Gurjot was arrested form Amritsar.
The young farmer, 21-year old belongs to Talwandi Sobha Singh village in the Tarn Taran district of Panjab.
Gurjot participated in the tractor rally held on January 26, to mark two years of the sit-in protests, and has been booked under FIR No. 96/2021.
Some police official told the news organization, Indian Express that Gurjot was found in Amritsar after several teams of northern range conducted raids in Panjab.
“He is accused of being involved in hoisting the religious flags at the Red Fort. However, during interrogation, he has denied all charges,” the Indian Express quoted a police official in a report regarding the same.
