Devsar Premier League starts, SSP Kulgam felicitates participants

The inaugural match of the maiden cricket tournament Devsar Premier League was held today at Kulgam, under which players across south Kashmir as well as from local areas of the district participated with enthusiasm and zeal.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the organizers said that the objective behind conducting this tournament is to harness the talent of players in sports activities and to provide them a platform for them to have a career in the sports sector.

The tournament is being organized for the first time in the south Kashmir district ad 64 teams are participating in the mega-event, he said.

Moreover, SSP Kulgam Dr. G. V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS, DDC Member Reyaz Ahmed Bhat SDPO Devsar SHO Devsar and Apni Party leader, Asif Bhat were present at the inaugural ceremony.

The SSP Kulgam distributed certificates and sports kits among eight cricket teams participating in the tournament. “The winner and the runner-up team will be awarded a cash prize. Cash prizes will also be distributed among the top performers of the tournament,” he said.
