District Youth Services and Sports Organized Volley Ball Match in Shopian

In order to provide an opportunity to local youth for showcasing their talent, a friendly volleyball match was organized by district youth services and sports (DYSS) department Shopian here at mini secretariat ground, Arhama Shopian.

The match was played between JKA police of district Shopian and employees of youth services and sports department Shopian.

Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian Mohammed Yousuf Mir was the chief guest on the occasion.

The ADC while highlighting the importance of the sports said that Volleyball has traditionally been a popular game of Kashmir region and is followed passionately by people of all ages across Kashmir Valley.

He appealed youth of the district to come forward and participate in such sports events for physical fitness, development of sportsmanship, spirit and display their talent.

The response of employees of different departments was overwhelming and the event witnessed an active participation of officers and employees of different departments. They appreciated the efforts of the DYSS for constructively engaging the youth of the district in sports and requested that more such sporting events should be organized in the district.

District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Shopian, Gurmukh Singh, Joint Director planning Khursheed Ahmad Khatana, District Information officer, Shopian, Showkat Ahmad Khan besides other senior officer from different departments were present on the occasion.
