DNA Results of 3 Slain Youth in July 18, Amshipora Shopian Encounter Awaited

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on September 17 said that the final results of the DNA samples collected from three family members from Rajouri District of Jammu division who claimed the 3 youth killed on July 18, Amshipora Shopian encounter were their kin, will be revealed in just few days.

He further said, “There is no delay in results as the process takes time, it is just a matter of few days” while replying to a query that it has been a month since DNA samples were collected.

Police team from Srinagar travelled to Rajouri District in order to collect the DNA samples of six members from three families who claimed that the slain were their sons.

After the Shopian gunfight on 18 July, the pictures of slain youth went viral on social media after which their families claimed that their sons who were killed had gone to Shopian in order to earn their living.

Meanwhile Jammu Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, in his recent press conference held at Rajbhawan stated that he would ensure the justice in this probe and there will be no injustice to the families while speaking in reference to Shopian encounter.
