‘Does the Admin want us to Selectively Condemn Killings?’- Mehbooba Mufti Allegedly Barred from Visiting family of Youth killed in Anantnag Firing

The former chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir and president of the People’s Democratic Party President was yet again barred from leaving her house.

Sources within the People’s Democratic Party told The Kashmiriyat  Mehbooba Mufti has been put under house arrest to bar her from visiting the house of the youth who was killed in the firing incident in Anantnag’s Monghall area on Thursday night.

The PDP said that she was scheduled to visit Larnoo, Kokernag to condole with the slain tribal youth Parvez Ahmed Khan’s family but the administration at last minute disallowed her to visit the victims family.

Parvez Ahmed Khan was living with his family in a rented accommodation at Kehribal area of  Anantnag district and was a daily wager working in paddy fields during the harvesting season.

The deceased was killed by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at a checkpoint on Monghal bridge in Anantnag district on Thursday night.

“Unfortunate that administration has not allowed Mehbooba to visit Larnoo, Kokernag to condole with Parvez Khan’s family killed by security forces,” the source said.

He asked, “Does the administration want us to selectively condemn the killings? Are some killings and families not worthy of condolences? Some wounds not worthy of healing” A source within the party said.

“Even if Parvez jumped the checkpoint, couldn’t the CRPF fire warning shots, why was Parvez Ahmed Khan hurriedly burried as alleged by the family, ” the source said.
