Amid rising temperatures, the Water level is decreasing constantly in many parts of the Kashmir valley which has caused worry among the agriculturalists due to the non-availability of water supply to irrigate their paddy fields.
In the Anantnag district, the residents of several villages including Nowpora, career, Mehmoodabad, Nathipora, and surrounding villages, are in distress due to the non-availability of water for irrigation.
Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that in 2013, a Dam was constructed in Dooru Anantnag for the purpose that farmers will get benefit from the drought situation, but it becomes a dream amid rising temperature.
Water level decreases due to which we people suffer and can’t irrigate our paddy fields, Farmers told The Kashmiriyat.
They also told that 7 Crores of the amount was spent on the dam to benefit farmers but on ground zero we cant take advantage to get water supply for 2000 canal paddy field since 2013
Now, we appeal to DC Anantnag to look into the matter of our paddy land which turns barren due to cracks that trigger worry agriculturists of area.
They said our genuine demand should be fulfilled soon so that we can irrigate our land.
