Drug overdose the likely cause of Bandipora youth’s death, says Police

The Jammu Kashmir Police in Bandipora have suspected that the likely cause of death of a youth from Bagh Bandipora, whose body was discovered near Gamroo Gund Qaisar Bridge last Thursday, was an ‘overuse of drugs.’

The Police have also made an arrest in connection with the incident.

“Preliminary investigations suggest that the cause of death was a drug overdose,” stated a Police spokesperson. “A formal case has been registered under sections 304 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).”

“The individual named Qaisar Aejaz Waza, son of Aejaz Ahmad Waza from Bagh Bandipora, who has been accused of providing the victim with the drug overdose and subsequently disposing of the body, has been arrested in connection with the incident,” he added.

The investigation into the case is ongoing as the police continue their efforts to identify any other individuals involved and gather additional evidence. (GNS)
