
The Jammu Kashmir police has arrested a total of 217 drug peddlers in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, Police officials said.
In an official communique Police has said that a total of 144 cases have been registered against these peddlers in the north Kashmir district in the first five months of the ongoing year 2023.
Police has said that drugs worth a total of seven crore, sixty nine lakhs and ninety one thousand (7,69,91,000) have been seized during various operations in the district.
“Brown sugar worth 3.41 crores, Heroin worth 3.14 crore, Charas worth 35.10 Lakh, Poppy straw (Fukki) worth 34.91 lakhs has been recovered during the raids,” Police said in their press release.
The police said that cash worth rupees 43.90 Lakh and 15 vehicles have been seized during the operation launched against drug peddling in Kashmir.
Police has reiterated that it would continue its operation against drugs in the Kashmir valley.
