On Saturday evening, at least eight members of a family were killed in an attack by an unidentified man at a mosque in Nangarhar province of Afganistan, said the provincial Governor Zia-ul-Haq Amarkhel.
The incident took place around 9 pm at a masjid in Jalalabad city after an unidentified gunman opened fire on the family members while they were praying.
Amarkhel stated personal enmity to be the reason behind the killing. However, he said that investigations are going over the matter. The police told that no one has been arrested yet.
On Friday, three police officers were killed in a car bomb attack that targeted an outpost in the Zindajan district in the west of Herat province.
The explosion that happened in the Bazarak area in the Zindajan district was followed by Taliban attacks on the district from three directions, the governor told also adding that the clashes continued for few hours, reported TOLOnews.
Meanwhile, the Taliban attacked Chesht, Oba, Gulran, Kohzor, and Kashk-e-Kunhna districts in Herat on Friday night said the Herat provincial governor Sayed Waheed Qatali.
Further Qatali stated that there was no harm to the security forces in the Taliban attacks in the five districts of Herat.
According to the governor, on Friday evening, the city of Herat witnessed a roadside bomb explosion in which one civilian was wounded.
