Electric supply to remain suspended in parts of Srinagar, adjoining areas: Details here

 

The Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns to facilitate installation, repairs, and upgradation works on various 33 KV lines.

On April 29, 2025, to install and repair the 33 KV isolators along the line route and carry out stabilisation works, shutdown of the 33 KV Nehalpora-Markundal line will be observed. As a result, the 33/11 KV Receiving Stations at Markundal, Naidkhai, Shahgund, and Aglar will remain off, affecting power supply to Markundal, Naidkhai, Shahgund, Ankhul, and Gundboon from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM.

On April 30, 2025, in connection with the shifting of electrical utilities along the road, the shutdown of the 33 KV Badampora-Wangipora Tap line will be observed. Consequently, the 33/11 KV Receiving Stations at Batwina, Wangipora, and Nowgam will remain off, disrupting power supply to Batwina, Nowgam, Wangipora, Zazna, Ahan, Waskura, Kharbagh, Sumbal, Nesbal, and nearby areas from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM.

Additionally, shutdown of the 33 KV Badampora-Army Hakbara line will also be observed on the same day. This will keep the 33/11 KV Receiving Stations at Hakbara, Hajin, and Madwan Army off, affecting electricity supply to Hajin, Preng, Madwan, Banyari, Hakbara, Chandergeer, and surrounding areas between 09:00 AM and 04:00 PM.

Further Shutdowns:

April 29 and May 1, 2025: To upgrade the 33 KV Wanpoh-SICOP line from 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR, the shutdown of this line will be carried out. During this time, the 33/11 KV Receiving Stations at Shamsipora and SICOP will remain off, affecting Shamsipora, Zablipora, SICOP, and nearby areas from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on both days.

May 3 and May 5, 2025: In continuation of the upgradation work, the 33/11 KV Receiving Stations at Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpara, Veeri, and Cheniwader will also remain off. Power supply to Veer, Srigufwara, Zirpara, Shamsipora, Jablipora, SICOP Bijbehara, and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on these two dates.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to plan accordingly and cooperate during the shutdown periods.
