Eleven Kashmiri Scientists shine in Stanford University’s global top 2% list

Eleven individuals from Kashmir have been recognized in Stanford University’s global list of top 2% scientists.

The University of Kashmir reported that in the 2023 rankings released by Stanford University, a renowned academic institution, these scientists have been acknowledged as distinguished contributors to the field of research, ranking them among the top 2% worldwide.

Stanford University’s rankings are highly regarded for their thorough assessment, taking into consideration factors such as research publications, citations, and remarkable contributions to their respective fields. These rankings emphasize the remarkable accomplishments of scientists from the region, serving as a testament to the exceptional caliber of scientists from Jammu and Kashmir.

Prof Nilofer Khan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, expressed, “The individuals from this region have not only enhanced the reputation of the University of Kashmir but have also made substantial contributions to the progress of their respective fields.”

Furthermore, the University of Kashmir has achieved not only a significant rise in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings, now standing at the 33rd position, but has also seen the number of scientists featured in the prestigious Stanford University rankings increase from 9 in 2022 to an impressive 11 in 2023.
