An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Khul area of Ranipora in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District.
A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday morning 19 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the Khulczohour area.
The cordon continued for nearly two to three hours, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed by the Forces.
As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two to three militants were trapped in the area
Sources said that a massive exchange of fire is being heard at the site of the encounter.
Mobile internet services are have been barred in this South Kashmir District.
