An Army trooper was injured after a gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Sheeri Chandoosa area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
A top police officer said that contact was established during cordon and search operation launched by police and army in Sultanpura forests.
In initial exchange of fire one army trooper received a bullet wound in leg, has been shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
Till this report was being filed, intermittent exchange of firing was going on.(GNS)
