
An encounter has broken out between security forces and militants in Hiranagar area in Kathua, an official said.
The official told news agency Kashmir Bulletin that upon receiving specific inputs about presence of militants in Sanyal area, the security forces cordoned off the area.
“As the security forces zeroed into the suspected site, the militants opened fire which was retaliated, triggering of an encounter,” the official said.
“It is believed that several militants area trapped at the site,” the official said, adding, “more forces are being rushed to the site to neutralise the hiding militants.”
