An encounter has started between Government forces and militants at Pombay area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday afternoon.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that two to three Militants are believed to trapped at the site of the encounter in this kulgam area.
He said that earlier the Government Forces had launched a cordon and search Operation following specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
The hiding Militants opened fire on the forces, when they were asked to surrender, the official said.
The operation is being jointly conducted by 9RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 18 BN of CRPF, the official told The Kashmiriyat.
