An encounter has started between militants and Government forces in the Trubji area of Nowpora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday a joint group of RR, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in Nowpora area of Kulgam, launched a cordon and search operation.
The hiding militants opened fire on the troopers during the cordon, triggering an encounter. 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
As per locals, intermittent exchange of gunfire is going on at the site of the encounter.
