Encounter breaks out in Kulgam’s Pariwan

An encounter has broken out between militants and government forces in Pariwam area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday evening , 9 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 18 BN of CRPF launched a joint launched a cordon and search operation in the Parigwan area of Kulgam.

During the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said

Two militants are believed to be trapped.

As per the latest report, intermittent exchange of gunfire is going on.
