An Encounter broke out between government forces and militants at Pudshoo of Lukadpora area of Shopian district on Saturday afternoon.
A Security official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 34 RR, CRPF and Shopian Police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
An official said that, after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, opened fire, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
Sources said that two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
Pertinently this is the sixth encounter in Shopian district, 22 Militants have been killed during these encounters.
