An encounter has raged between militants and government forces in Feripora in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday morning.
Sources said a joint team of Army’s RR, Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation in Shopian on early Monday morning.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
A senior police officer upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that the exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants.
As per the sources, two to three militants of Militant are believed to be trapped.
