An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Gund Baba Khaleel locality of Sangam area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag District early on Thursday.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday night RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in this Anantnag area.
The cordon continued for nearly two to three hours, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
One Militant was arrested from the site of gunfight in an injured condition. The Militant who has been identified as Zaheer Abbas of Pulwama has been shifted to the hospital for treatment by the Police.
