An early morning encounter broke out between militants and goverment forces in Sekipora area of Bijbhera in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Friday.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of army’s 3RR and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in Sekipora around 2 am.
During the searches the holed up militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.
SSP Anantnag Altaf Khan told a news agency that contact had been established with militants.
“Two to three Militants are trapped in a residential house at Sekipora area and massive exchange of gunfire was on,” sourc3s told The Kashmiriyat.
