An encounter has started between Militants and Government Forces in Verinag forest area of Kashmir’s Anantnag District.
Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation.
The Encounter started when Militants fired on a patrolling party of Government forces near the forest area of Verinag in Islamabad (Anantnag) district.
Earlier Forces including 19RR launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area upon receiving a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.
A Group of two or three is believed to be trapped in the area, sources told The Kashmiriyat.
