A Gunfight has raged between militants and government forces in Check i Saloosa area of Kreeri in of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday morning.
Sources said a joint team of Army’s RR, Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Check e Saloosa area of Kreeri on Saturday.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
A senior police officer upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that the exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants.
During the exchange of gunfire one Militant has been killed, so far, Sources said adding that an intermittent exchange of fire is underway at the site of the encounter.
As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
