Three militants have been killed in an encounter that raged between government forces and militants in the Mirhama area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A Police official said that three militants have been killed who are yet to be identified, while the search operation is on in the area.
Earlier, an official said that a joint team of 9 RR of the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
The hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight.
Pertinently, the encounter in Kulgam is the second encounter of the day. Another encounter is going on in the Anantnag’s Dooru area.
During the encounter in Anantnag, two cops have been injured. The condition of one of them is stated to be critical.
