An Encounter broke out between government forces and militants at Gilkadal area of Srinagar district on Sunday.
A Security official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including CRPF and Srinagar Police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
An official said that, after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, opened fire, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
Sources said that two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
Internet has been downed in the district.
One Militant has also been killed in an ongoing encounter in the Kulgam District.
