An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Turigam area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 34RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area.
The cordon continued for nearly eight hours, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.

As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two to three militants were trapped in a residential house in the area.
