Encounter Starts in Pulwama

An Encounter started between militants and Government forces in Ratnipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 50 RR of Indian Army, 182 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police were fired upon by Militants during a cordon and search operation in the area.

Immediately the troops cordoned off the area during which the holed up Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.

As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two to three militants are trapped in a residential house in the area.

A heavy exchange of fire was going on when this report being filed.

In the initial exchange of fire one two army men were critically injured, one of them has succumbed to his injuries, Sources told The Kashmiriyat,

A Local meanwhile said that heavy exchange of fire in going on, while intense clashes have erupted in the area.

Meanwhile mobile internet services have been snapped in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
