Engineering Student Goes Missing in Pulwama, May Have joined Militants

An Engineering student has gone missing from his home in Arabal Nikas in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District since Tuesday.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that youth identified as Khursheed Ahmed Malik son of Ghulam Nabi Malik left home early morning on Tuesday and since then there has been no trace of him.

The family issued a video immediately urging their son to return home asking Khursheed to consider the ill health of his mother adding that if Khursheed is with anyone, they should let him go home on humanitarian basis.

There is a strong rumour in the Arabal Nikas Locality as informed to The Kashmiriyat that Khursheed has joined Militancy.

“He was inclined towards militancy, his talks, thoughts clearly spoke of his mental bend towards the armed struggle,” one of his friend told The Kashmiriyat on condition of anonymity.

He said that the family has filed a missing report in the nearby Police station.

Police officials have confirmed the missing report and said they are investigating the matter.

Militant recruitment has been on rise this year, Stats available to The Kashmiriyat reveal that at least 115 Youth have joined Militant ranks this year.
