
Thousands of people on Monday joined congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra which is currently passing through Jammu and will culminate in Kashmir valley on January 31.
He said that the Congress Party will use all its might to restore the rights of Kashmiris. “We know that statehood was snatched forcibly, we will restore statehood,” he said.
Gandhi said Jammu Kashmir has the highest level of unemployment in the country. Youngsters aspire to become engineers, doctors, and lawyers but they find they cannot, he said.
Gandhi said he spoke to a cross-section of people from J&K during his yatra and they raised their issues. He said they told him that their voices are not being heard by the administration.
“The entire trade is being run by outsiders and people of Jammu Kashmir watch them sitting haplessly,” he said.
