The inhabitants of Nadihal village and the adjacent vicinity in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, on Monday, accused the Power Development Department (PDD) of resorting to unscheduled power cuts, causing immense hardships to the residents in this harsh winter.
Adil Majeed, a local resident, told The Kashmiriyat that Nadihal and adjacent villages have been witnessing frequent power outages since winters.
A senior citizen, Abdul Majeed, told The Kashmiriyat that the locals are hardly getting power supply for few hours since last 2 months, due to which they are suffering during this bone chilling winter.
A student, Aqib, said, “We, the residents of this area, are facing hardships due to unscheduled power cuts during this harsh winter. We are continuously pleading before the higher-ups in this regard.” While the authorities earlier had assured them that the problem will be rectified at the earliest, it only proved a hoax, Aqib said.
Meanwhile, the locals have now requested concerned higher-ups to look into the matter at the earliest, so that they can have a sigh of relief in this harsh winter.
