Locals from Alamdar Colony Rawalpora area of Srinagar outskirts are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD). They allege that erratic power supply and low voltage have made their life miserable.
They said the situation persists both in metered and non-metered areas and the department makes no distinction between the two.
“Every winter we suffer despite paying fatty bills to PDD. Pesky power cuts and low voltage are the continuous sources of irritation,” they told news agency Kashmir News Trust.
“We have been raising the issue with the officials, but they blame people for illegal hooking. If there is illegal power pilferage, then it is the responsibility of the PDD to initiate action against violators, why make everyone suffer,” they said and sought the intervention of higherups. (KNT)
