‘Family hit with Pakistani drone in Punjab’: 5 updates at 10

Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Pakistani drones have been sighted for the second consecutive day in Jammu, Samba, and Punjab sectors.

Defence sources, as per ANI, confirmed the activity, prompting a high alert in these regions. Intermittent sounds of heavy artillery blasts were heard through the evening. A citywide blackout was imposed in Jammu as sirens echoed across the area.

Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted, “Intermittent sounds of blasts, probably heavy artillery, can now be heard from where I am. Blackout in Jammu now. Sirens can be heard across the city.”

Control Room Set Up in Baramulla

The District Administration of Baramulla has established a 24/7 Joint Control Room at the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC). The control room is tasked with addressing public grievances, coordinating emergency responses, and providing real-time information during the current situation.

Drones were spotted at various places in Kashmir as per local reports, including Srinagar, Awantipora, and Baramulla, among other places. Officials said that the Pakistan drones have been successfully brought down.

One Pakistani drone has hit a residential area in the Firozpur district of Punjab, leaving a family injured. The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Flight Cancellations Continue Across India

IndiGo and Air India have cancelled flights to and from several Indian cities until May 15. The cancellations are in response to recent directives and ongoing airport closures. AIIMS Cancels All Leaves Amid Emergency Orders

In Delhi, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has cancelled all leaves for officers, except for those on medical grounds. The move comes following directives from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under Order No. 50 3/2024 Estt. Officers currently on leave have been directed to return to duty immediately.
