Famous Naat Khawan and writer from Dooru Abu Tariq passes away

Renowned Naat Khawan (someone who recites poetic praises of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), writer, and religious leader Ghulam Nabi Mir, popularly known as Abu Tariq, passed away, leaving a deep void in the community.

Ghulam Nabi Mir, a resident of Dooru Shahabad, was widely respected for his contributions to Islamic scholarship and education.

He served as the former Ameer of Jamia Masjid Dooru and was a devoted member of several religious and intellectual circles, including the Ghausia Khanaqah.

As the General Secretary of Hamayat-e-Islam, Jammu Kashmir, Mir played a vital role in promoting Islamic teachings and uplifting the community. He was also an accomplished writer, known for authoring and organizing several books that enriched Islamic literature.

A prominent naat reciter and a revered intellectual, Ghulam Nabi Mir’s work left an indelible mark on the region. His progressive outlook and dedication to service earned him immense respect and admiration.

He was the father of Tariq Ali Mir, a well-known analyst and columnist.

The news of his passing has brought immense grief to the community.
