
In the ongoing policy of renaming prominent places, Government controlled educational institutes after the slain Government force personnel, the Admin on Friday renamed the famous Rajpora Chowk of Pulwama after a slain Policeman.
In this regard, a function was organized in Pulwama District Police Lines where the police changed the name of the famous Rajppora Chowk in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district to Shaheed Farooq Chowk.
Farooq, a Policeman Sub-inspector was killed by militants in the line of duty in the Rajpora Chowk in 2013.
The police also installed a picture of the slain policeman Farooq Ahmed on the Clock tower of the town of Pulwama.
On this occasion, SSP Pulwama Ghulam Jeelani Wani announced the name change of Rajpora Chowk.
