Amid snowfall, thousands of people have reached Aishmuqam, Anantnag to attend the funeral of a renowned Muslim saint, Faqeer Ghulam Qadir, who passed away on Thursday.
Faqeer Ghulam Qadir, passed away on Wednesday night at Ajmer Sharif in Rajasthan where the Muslim cleric was on a visit for the past week.
As soon as the news of his demise spread, thousands of Muslims rushed to Aishmuqam where the cleric was based for several decades and served at the Sufi Khanqah of revered Sufi saint, Hazrat Sakhi Zain u Din Wali.
Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that a huge rush of locals including several scholars attended the funeral of the 1938-born Muslim cleric.
A disciple of renowned spiritual saint Syed Ama Sahib Yor, he had been based at Aishmuqam for several decades and people from all religions visited the Muslim cleric.
Originally, a resident of Pazalpora, he later shifted to Kathsoo and then to Aishmuqam where he opened a Langar, where hundreds of people are provided free food on a daily basis.
