The Police in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district has arrested 58 drug peddlers in 40 FIRs registered in February month of year 2023.
An official said that the total recovery in the month of February include 58.20 kilograms of Poppy straw/cannabis powder, 4.671 kilograms of Charas, 3.14 kilograms of Brown sugar, and 152 grams of heroin.
The cash of 40.15 lacs and nine vehicles were also seized in this month, he said.
Total value of recovered contraband, according to pure contraband on the black market, is 3 crores 17 lacs and 67 thousands. Including cash the total value is 3 crores 57 lacs and 82 thousands.
He said that 40 total drug-related FIRs were registered in the district this month. Additionally, 58 drug peddlers were arrested.
Baramulla police in a statement said, “General People of the district are requested to come forward with the information of drug peddlers in their areas (identify will be kept confidential) in order to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationships.”
