A female Government employee has been shot dead by suspected militants in Gopalpora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday morning.
A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a woman identified as Ranjini bala wife of Raj Kumar, who is a resident of Samba and was presently staying in Chawalgam has been shot at in Gopalpora, where she was currently posted as a teacher.
Rajini was shifted to the nearby hospital in a critical condition, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, health officials told The Kashmiriyat that the woman was brought dead to the hospital.
The Government forces have rushed to the spot and launched a search operation to nab the attackers.
The incident happens days after the killing of Kashmiri Pandit, Rahul Bhatt who was shot dead after suspected militants barged inside his office in Beerwah in Budgam.
In the aftermath of the incident, Kashmiri Pandits have been on a protest to demand their transfer from the Kashmir valley.
