Five including three Yatris injured in Ganderbal road accident

A road accident took place in Satrina Kangan, Ganderbal District, on Thursday afternoon when two vehicles collided.

The collision resulted in injuries to five individuals, including three yatris and two locals, officials told The Kashmiriyat.

They said that an Amaze vehicle, registered as PB10HZ-6707, was traveling from Srinagar to Baltal for yatra purposes when it collided with an auto-load carrier, registered as JK16A-9084, coming from the opposite direction.

The injured yatris were identified as 16-year-old Maneysood, 48-year-old Kiran, and 51-year-old Jagdesh Kumar, all residents of Ludhiana, Punjab.

Two locals, Javaid Ahmed, son of G.H. Nabi from Handwara, and Muzaffar Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman from Nizampora Kangan, also sustained injuries.

All five injured were taken to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan for treatment. The three yatris were later referred to SKIMS Soura for further care.

The Kangan Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
