Give troopers have been injured during the ongoing encounter that raged between militants and government forces in south Kashmir Kulgam district.
Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday morning, a joint team of Police, CRPF and Indian army’s 9 RR launched a cordon and search operation in Adigam area of Kulgam.
As the forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, they said.
During the encounter, five troopers have received injuries who have been shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment.
“Five security personnel injured during the encounter at Adigam, Kulgam, have been shifted to BB Cantt in Srinagar for treatment. The injured include Mohammad Isran of 09 RR, with injuries to his right shoulder, ASP Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, who sustained injuries to his right arm and left leg, Sepoy Mohan Sharma with injuries to his right leg, Sepoy Sohan Kumar with a wound on his left thigh, and Sepoy Yoginder, injured in his right thigh,” an official told The Kashmiriyat.
He said that the troopers have been shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
