The residents of Sursora area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district alleged that they were forced to repair the 250KV electric transformer by themselves.
A local while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that they brought transformer oil at 4800 rupees and thimbles at Rs. 450. The residents did pay the expenses of oil and Thimbles all by themselves.
He alleged that the PDD department could not manage its repair. “Now we need bush rods, the department is saying they are also not available,” he alleged.
Adding, “If the transformer develops technical snag, we are forced to repair it ourselves.”
An official from the PDD department denied the claims of residents that they forced people to give money for transformer repair.
However, he confessed that the residents have brought oil by themselves. Citing the reason for the unavailability of stock sometimes in the department.
Concerned AEE said that it’s wrong if they have brought it themselves. “They should have come here,” he said.
He further said that the allegations will be enquired.
