The Government Forces on Wednesday morning barged into the Memandar area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District and thrashed several locals in the area, Locals told The Kashmiriyat.
Locals alleged that the vehicles forces early morning on Wednesday appeared on the Memandar roads and started thrashing locals to pulp without any provocation,. “A local preacher was severely thrashed,” a local from Memandar said.
The forces early morning on Tuesday had launched a cordon and search operation in the area and fired pellets at protesters when clashes had erupted, a journalist was also hit with pellets.
Late in the night, Suspected Militants had targeted a cassiper vehicle of the Indian Army, however nobody was injured in the attack, as per Sources available to The Kashmiriyat.
The Forces later conducted nocturnal raids in the Memandar area and arrested two youth identified as Gowhar bashir and Shahid Rashid, both residents of Memandar Shopian.
“The Forces barged into households late night and thrashed several people and arrested two youth from the area,” a Local told The Kashmiriyat.
A cordon and Search operation was not launched in the area as reported by several media outlets.
