The Indian Army on Saturday shot dead a man when he allegedly tried to cross the fence of their camp in Puhnoo area south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Around 3:00 am today, the Government Force personnel movement of a suspicious person near their camp at Puhnoo and immediately challenged the alleged intruder who crossed the fence and came closer to the wall of the camp.
“The sentry fired warning shots in a bid to stop the unknown man. but, he continued moving. Later, sentry opened fire upon him,” he added.
The Killed person has been identified as Rayees Ahmad, son of Abdul Hameed Wani of Begam Kulgam, He is said to be mentally challenged.
Pertinently 4 Civilians had been shot by the Troopers stationed at Puhnoo, Shopian on March 04, which evoked widespread condemnation.
