A Kashmiri photojournalist on Saturday alleged that the Government Forces snatched his camera and his phone while covering the encounter in Shopian’s Ganopora on Friday.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Reshi Irshad while accusing the Forces of harassing him said, “I was covering an encounter in Shopian on Friday when the Forces called me and snatched my camera and my phone.”
Irshad said that he was called by the Local Police at least five hours later and handed over his camera and the phone.
Meanwhile, the Pulwama Journalists Federation (PJF) has condemned the harassment of photojournalist and PJF member Reshi Irshad, during the Shopian encounter.
The PJF President along with other members has expressed strong protest against this behavior said that the attack comes when journalists are risking their lives amid the pandemic to keep the public informed.

The PJF members urged the LG and the Director-General of Police to look into these incidents on the press fraternity in Kashmir.
