Forest Department in Tangmarg Non Functional for Past 20 Days

The employees of Social forestry in Tangmarg area of Gulmarg in North Kashmir’s Bandipora today staged a protest for the 15th consecutive day.

Protesting against the Range officer of the Forest department, the employees demanded the immediate transfer of the officer for his unethical behavior in the office.

“The employees said that the employees have been on a strike for the past twenty days, however nobody has paid any heed to our demands,” Ghulam Mohammed Dar, a protesting employee of the forest department said.

“The Ranger officer abuses the employees and is corrupt, he (the ranger officer) Imtiyaz Ahmed Khan and wants to destroy the forests of Kashmir, but we will not allow any official to loot our jungles,” another protesting employee said.

The protesters demanded that the official must be transferred immediately as he is not worth staying at the post. “we will soon be forced to take extreme steps, if this officer is not transferred,” another forest department employee said.
