On Wednesday, an encounter broke out between the militants and security forces in the Shalgul forest area in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district.
The gunfight took place after security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of a specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
Reportedly, three unidentified militants are trapped and one was injured by a joint force of 42 Rashtriya Rifles and 33 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army.
